Privacy Policy

The short version
spacetags runs entirely on your Mac. It doesn't phone home, doesn't report analytics, doesn't know your tag names, doesn't know what apps you use. The only information we ever collect is the order data needed to sell you the software and support you if something goes wrong.
What the app collects
Nothing is transmitted off your Mac. Tags, colors, positions, and
preferences live in ~/Library/Application Support/spacetag/
on your machine. We have no way to see them.
License validation (when you enter your purchase key) contacts the Lemon Squeezy license API to confirm the key is valid. This exchange sends the key itself plus a short machine identifier and does not include any of your tag data.
What we collect at purchase
Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as our merchant of record. They collect:
- Your email address (for the license delivery and receipt)
- Billing country (for tax calculation)
- Payment details (processed by Lemon Squeezy and their payment processors — we never see card numbers)
We receive from Lemon Squeezy: your email, order number, country, and the license key we issued you. We keep these for the purpose of supporting your purchase (e.g. re-issuing a lost key) and for the tax/accounting records we're legally required to keep.
What we don't collect
- No analytics or telemetry from the app.
- No IP logging beyond what our web host records for short windows to serve the site.
- No third-party tracking pixels or ad networks on this site.
- No cookies except what's strictly needed to keep you logged in to account pages (currently: none).
Your rights
You can request a copy of everything we hold about you, or deletion of it, by emailing hello@spacetags.app. If you're in the EU/UK, this is the GDPR Subject Access / Erasure right; we honor the same request from anyone. Deletion of purchase records may affect our ability to support or re-issue your license.
Third parties involved
- Lemon Squeezy — checkout, tax handling, license issuance. Their privacy policy.
- Apple — notarization of the app binary (Apple sees a hash of the app, not your usage).
- Web host — standard access logs for the site.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll post the revised version here with a new "last updated" date.
